First Impressions GPRR13 / Grassroots&Resilience!!
Sunday, Consultation day! Two days before the real deal, participants start engines with more motivation than ever! Preparing inputs to the Global Platform, focusing mainly on a post-2015 framework for DRR. In fact, today I had the opportunity to attend the session “Demystifying Grassroots Partnerships: Building Community Resilience” in which people shared practices so inspiring that make you feel that all together can actually change the world: incredible experiences from around the globe converging to improve lives… from the bottom, from the heart!! They show us why and how community should be the starting and the ending point of public policy, specially regarding DRR!
As Latinoamerican, I was greatly pleased to share with such amazing women and see the great contributions from Honduras, Guatemala, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Peru. Other interventions from Japan, Kenya, India and Bangladesh, among others, were equally stimulating!!
